Which BMWs can take Remote Engine Start?
Remote Engine Start, option 1CR, needs the body electronics BMW introduced with the G series in 2018. Most G series models had them from the start, and so did the 1 Series F40 and the M8, X5 M and X6 M; the 5 Series, the 7 Series, the X3, the X4 and their M models only got them with their facelift. On those cars everything the feature needs is already fitted, and Casto Flasher installs the option from your phone.

What rules a car out, whatever the model
- A diesel engine.
- A plug-in hybrid or an electric drive. On a hybrid the climate control runs, and the engine never starts.
- Body electronics of the generation before: the F series of the 2010s (F20, F30, F10, F80 and their siblings), and the 5 Series, 7 Series, X3, X4 and their M models built before their facelift.
- Engine software rewritten on the bench by a tuner, which can refuse the licence the feature needs. The free check cannot see that, so if it is your car, write to us before you buy.

- Not possible: the car lacks what the feature needs.
1 Series

Remote Engine Start is available for the BMW 5 Series Sedan (G30) and Touring (G31) built from July 2020, after the facelift, and for the M5 (F90) from its 2020 facelift. A G30 or G31 built before July 2020 cannot take it, because its body electronics are the generation before. Diesels and the 530e and 545e hybrids cannot either. - The Toyota Supra MKV (A90) running a supported MHD map. The app asks which map and which options you run before you pay
- Not yet: a stock Supra on its original engine software
- Not yet: other tunes and custom files, even when MHD put them on the car

- M models across several generations, not only the newest: BMW offers the option on the current G generation M cars as well as on the F80, F82 and F83 M3 and M4, and on the F90 M5 before the facelift

The newest generation is not on it yet: the 5 Series G60, the 7 Series G70, the X3 G45 and the X1 U11. Write to contact@castoflasher.com with your model. When a feature arrives that your car can take, the app shows it in your car’s store.
There is no lookup field on this page on purpose. The list says which models it is available for; only your car can say yes, and the free check is where it does.
